In this day and age, it’s easy to get lost in all of the hype of cutthroat businesses, Wallstreet takeovers, and the customer always coming last. Fortunately for us, there is at least one business out there that still believes in the magic of giving back.
A2Z Limo has been serving the Miami area since 1998, providing luxury transportation at affordable prices. Their excellence speaks for itself with their top of the line vehicles and stellar customer service. But it doesn’t stop there. Owner, Alex Henriquez and his wife, Zuly, have been regular participants in the Kids Wish Network since 2010. This uplifting charity is dedicated to making dreams come true for sick and struggling children all over the world and in doing so, inspiring hope and joy in the lives of everyone involved.
Many of these wishes involve a need for transportation whether it’s a ride from the airport, a shuttle to Disneyworld, or delivery to a cruise ship. Unfortunately, those don’t always come cheap. However, thanks to Alex and the crew at A2Z Limo, the wish kids can ride in style and take the excitement of their day in the spotlight just one step further.
One of these special kids is Gage. Gage was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of one and has since added epilepsy, quadriplegia, and inflammation of the esophagus to the list. These life-threatening disorders affect his brain and nervous system, and subsequently his movement, speech, hearing, thought, and sight. Needless to say, life is a struggle for Gage, now 18, and Linda, his grandmother and guardian.
But through the Kids Wish Network, Gage has found hope. He recently had his dream of swimming with dolphins become reality. A Hummer limousine and chauffeur picked Gage and Linda up from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and whisked them away to the cruise ship that would take them to Cozumel, Mexico. There, Gage spent time bonding with several dolphins and won the hearts of cruise goers and staff alike. Linda says they were treated like royalty from start to finish and the videos of their trip are what got them through Gage’s next intensive surgery and hospital stay.
These stunning tributes to human kindness could not be possible without the generosity of people like Alex Henriquez. When asked why he participates, Alex says, “The joy and excitement on each child’s face is all worth it! These kids are great and deserve to be pampered. We are proud that we can help be part of it.”
Children like Gage are facing impossible struggles all over the world. For some, it’s a terminal illness, for others it’s abuse, poverty, or homelessness. Kids Wish Network and partners like A2Z Limo are providing an escape for these children and a hope for something better. The message of the power of human compassion can’t help but resonate in the lives of every person they touch. It’s nice to know that there are still some business owners in the world looking out for the “little guys”.
